Event 042417 Justice in Mexico

"Justice in Mexico: An Agenda for the Years Ahead"

August 11, 2017 • 6:00p-8:00p

University of San Diego, Forum C

Over the last fifteen years, the Justice in Mexico program at the University of San Diego has worked to promote bilateral cooperation to address serious challenges related to rule of law, corruption, and human rights in Mexico and the U.S.-Mexico border region. Now we are at a critical juncture in U.S.-Mexico relations, a moment that is arguably unparalleled in recent memory.

We hope you will join Justice in Mexico for dinner and a distinguished panel, including Miguel Basáñez (former Ambassador of Mexico to the United States), Dr. Wayne Cornelius (ex Director of the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies at the University of California, San Diego), Justice José Ramón Cossío Díaz (Mexican Supreme Court), political analyst and journalist Dr. Denise Dresser (Reforma, Proceso), and Founder and Director Dr. Edna Jaime (México Evalúa), as we explore advancements and challenges in promoting the rule of law, security and human rights, and help chart the way forward for Justice in Mexico.
